Learn Sushi is run by my most demanding client – my wife Kumiko Hatori. Kumiko teaches people how to make sushi and Japanese food, as well as providing catering services and writing about Japanese cooking for the Herald, Glasgow's daily paper.
Conceived and executed at speed, the Learn Sushi identity is made up of four elements, fish, knife, the resultant rolls and the Kanji symbol for fish, scanned from Kumiko's calligraphy. The colours of red, black and pale green make reference to Japanese culture without patronising it.
The identity has been applied to business cards, posters vouchers and trainee packs. A website is to be launched soon at LearnSushi.co.uk.
